Privacy Policy

1. What we collect

• Google account information — your name, email address, Google account ID, and profile photo, obtained when you sign in via Google.
• Profile information you provide — your display name and national ID number, entered during profile setup.
• Phone number — optionally provided, used for mobile money disbursements.
• Financial transaction data — records of deposits, loan requests, repayments, and cycle payouts, including amounts, dates, and status of each transaction.
• Payment evidence text — the SMS confirmation message you paste when submitting a deposit or loan repayment. This text typically contains your phone number, the recipient number, and the transaction amount as issued by your mobile money provider. It is stored to allow the Group Lead or Treasurer to verify the payment. Cash payments are recorded as a declaration without accompanying text.
• Overpayment records — if you repay more than the outstanding loan balance, the excess amount and your chosen resolution (apply as contribution, or claim back) are stored as part of the repayment record.
• Trust score and trust events — a numeric score (0–100) calculated from your repayment history, and the underlying events that feed it.
• Push notification subscription data — if you opt in, your browser or device push endpoint and associated keys are stored to deliver alerts.
• Usage and approximate location — the days you use AvenaHold, and the country your connection comes from, worked out from your IP address when you load a page. We keep only the two-letter country code and daily or hourly counts — never your IP address, city, or precise location. We use this to understand how many people use AvenaHold and where, and it is never shown to other members.

2. Your email address

Your email address is used only for authentication. It is never displayed to other group members, never shown in the app UI, and never shared with other members. Other members in your group see your display name and, where relevant, your phone number — not your email.

3. Payment evidence visibility

The SMS confirmation text you submit as payment evidence is visible to the Group Lead and Treasurer of the group the payment belongs to. It is not visible to ordinary members. AvenaHold does not currently integrate with a payment processor — money moves outside the app and evidence is reviewed manually by group officers.

4. Data sharing within Tymzi Hub Ltd

AvenaHold is a product of Tymzi Hub Ltd. Your personal data is not shared with other Tymzi Hub Ltd products. Aggregate, anonymised usage statistics may be used internally for product improvement.

AvenaHold does not sell your personal data to any third party.

5. Trust score visibility

Other members of a group you belong to can see your trust score number within that group. They cannot see the individual events that make up your score (e.g. a late payment in a different group), nor your score history from groups they are not part of. The underlying event log is visible only to you and to Tymzi Hub Ltd administrators.

6. Data retention and account deletion

Your personal profile information (name, phone, avatar) can be deleted on request by contacting Tymzi Hub Ltd. Financial transaction records — deposits, loans, repayments — are retained indefinitely as part of the group's shared ledger. These records cannot be deleted because doing so would corrupt the financial history that other group members depend on. After account closure, your personal identifiers are removed from those records where technically possible without breaking ledger integrity.

Push notification subscription data is deleted when you remove the subscription or close your account.

7. Applicable law

AvenaHold's data practices are subject to Uganda's Data Protection and Privacy Act 2019. This policy is a working draft and will be updated to include specific compliance claims only after review by a qualified Ugandan data protection lawyer.
